PSA Theatre Sports

On Friday night, August 8, six of our talented ATAR Year 11 and 12 Drama students put on a masterclass at the PSA Theatre Sports Competition at Hale School. With poise, humour, and razor-sharp improvisation skills, they triumphed over all six competing PSA schools in a fiercely competitive, high-energy showdown.

For those new to Theatre Sports, it’s competitive improvisation: teams are given short, unpredictable scenarios and must create scenes on the spot, judged on creativity, storytelling, and performance skills. It’s fast-paced, clever, and highly entertaining to watch.

Our team’s performances ranged from a perfectly choreographed and beautifully harmonised Pitch Perfect medley introduction, to sharp-witted comedy, to slipping in a French accent at every possible opportunity. Their quick thinking, teamwork, and fearless commitment to the craft made them a standout on the night.

Team members:

  • Patrick Carroll (Year 12)
  • Zach McLean (Year 12)
  • Finn Stenning Alexander (Year 12)
  • Derell Corunna (Year 11)
  • Jimmy Jurjevich (Year 11)
  • Bailey Thomas (Year 11)

We extend our thanks to the family, friends, and staff members who came along to cheer the team on—your support helped make the night even more memorable. A special mention goes to our unofficial cheer squad—a handful of Year 12s who brought the loudest and most enthusiastic support!

Six of our ATAR Year 11 and 12 Drama students have been crowned PSA Theatre Sports Champions, defeating all six competing PSA schools in a high-energy showdown. From a Pitch Perfect medley to razor-sharp comedy (and a few French accents), their quick wit and teamwork shone on stage. Huge thanks to the family, friends, and staff who came along to cheer them on!
