Feast of the Assumption Mass
Friday, 15 August
It is always a blessing to meet as a College community to celebrate Mass. The Feast of the Assumption is important for the Church because the body and soul of the Blessed Virgin Mary was taken into heaven after the end of her earthly life. Mary is seen as the first disciple of Jesus, the Mother of the Church, and a model for all disciples. Today, we reflect on Mary’s role as a mother, a wife and a friend, reminding us to be thankful for our own mothers or mother figures.
I would like to thank the Fra Oscar for his words of encouragement and wisdom, reminding us to tell our mothers, fathers, family and friends that we love someone. To our Extraordinary Ministers, our readers, students taking up the offertory, our reverent Altar Servers, our dedicated PowerPoint operators, the ever-talented chorale, our incredible groundsman, and staff who assisted or helped set up; and to staff, students and parents who participated in this special Eucharistic celebration. Thank you and God bless!
