Year 10 Sports Science ‘Eagle Insight’ Excursion
On Wednesday, 13 August, students doing the Year 10 Sports Science elective subject attended an excursion to Mineral Resources Park, training facility and home base of the West Coast Eagles.
After our inaugural visit in March, this was the College’s second opportunity to participate in the excursion and the students experienced a real treat of a learning experience!
Students and staff were very fortunate to spend time in the inner sanctum of the elite training environment, learning about key nutritional and physiological concepts that they can apply to their own high-level sporting pursuits. Students were able to see practical evidence of how their nutritional considerations impacted their energy levels and ability to recover from training more quickly.
A real highlight for the boys was listening to a presentation in the players meeting rooms, as well as observing training drills completed by WC players aimed at enhancing their performance readiness on the indoor oval. Eagles AFLW coach Daisy Pearce even took time out on the eve of their first match to check-in with that the students thought of the experience.
We look forward to sharing more of these opportunities with our ambitious students in the years to come. #spiritofexcellence

AFL road closures around TC
Please be advised that due to the WCE vs Sydney AFL match at Optus Stadium on the evening of Saturday 23 August, road closures will be in place around TC throughout the afternoon/evening.
While the final information from Main Roads is yet to be provided to the College, we do know from experience that Sailani Avenue will be closed to vehicles from mid-afternoon until after the conclusion of the AFL match; this will coincide with the TC Football Presentation Evening event. For security reasons, College gates along Sailani Avenue will also be closed during this time.
Parking for our College event will be available on the TC grounds, on a first-come-first-served basis. Other nearby parking options include the Queen's Gardens carpark, within easy walking distance to the school. If you do park outside the College grounds, we implore you not to jump any fences; instead, please walk down Trinity Avenue and into the College grounds via our main entrance.
