Welcome Back to a New Year of Learning at Bittern Primary School!

Welcome back to all our students, families and staff. What a joy it is to see Bittern Primary School launching into a new school year. We hope everyone enjoyed a safe and refreshing holiday break and is feeling ready for an exciting year ahead.

The start of a new school year always brings a sense of possibility, and already our classrooms are filled with smiles, curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. It’s been wonderful to see students reconnect with friends, welcome new classmates, and settle into new routines and learning spaces.

Welcome to our new families

It has been great to welcome our new families to our school. Starting at a new school can be a big step for children and parents alike and we encourage families to reach out, ask questions, and get involved. Our staff are always happy to help, and there are many opportunities throughout the year to connect through school events, activities, and learning celebrations.

We look forward to getting to know you and working together to support your child’s learning journey. Welcome to Bittern Primary School — we’re so glad you’re here! 💙

Annual privacy reminder for our school community

Our school collects and uses student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ privacy policy and the Schools’ privacy collection notice.

Our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students policy (see below) describes how we collect and use photographs, video and recordings of students. The policy also explains when parent consent is required and how it can be provided and withdrawn.

We ask parents to also review the guidance we provide on how we use Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education safely at the school and what parents can do to further protect their child’s information. If after reviewing the guidance, you have any questions or concerns regarding your child using Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for Education, please contact the school.

Womin Djeka Festival - Saturday 14th March. We need your help!

Mrs Roberts and our talented art students are busy getting ready for the Womin Djeka Festiaval at Emu Plains Reserve (Balnarring). This is shaping up to be a great event as we will be presenting this art work at the festival. We need parent helpers to supervise the display during the day. If some our families could provide an hour or so of their time to supervise the stall we would be most appreciative.

The festival is great fun and well worth attending so we encourage you to check it out. If you can assist with our school's stall can you please let us know by March 6th by contacting the office on 59 839 590 or emailing at bittern.ps@education.vic.gov.au.
