All Things Hub

Springvale Rise Primary School Community Hub

What a busy term it has been!

As we approach the end of the term, we would like to reflect on some of the wonderful initiatives and events our Hub has been involved in.

Last week, we celebrated Refugee Week by running a Refugee Community Drive and encouraging our families to donate non-perishable goods to support newly arrived refugee families. Together, with the generous support of our community and partners including Pinchapoo, Chobani and Foodbank, we collected and donated over 40 bags of essential items. These were delivered to the Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre and South East Community Links, where they were distributed at their Refugee Week celebrations and to families experiencing hardship. We are incredibly proud of our community for coming together to support those in need and demonstrate such kindness and generosity.

In addition, we hosted our Mother and Daughter Sessions in the MLC and SLC on the Heights campus. During these sessions, we explored topics such as the importance of sleep, how it impacts stress and wellbeing, and respectful communication. We finished the day with some fun movement activities and games, giving mums and daughters the opportunity to connect, laugh and strengthen their bond. These sessions provided a valuable opportunity to come together and discuss topics that support positive mental health while creating meaningful shared experiences.

We are also looking forward to our upcoming Mothers and Sons Session, where families will explore healthy nutrition and eating habits, movement and physical wellbeing, and enjoy preparing and sharing food together through a hands-on cooking activity. We can't wait to continue creating opportunities for families to connect, learn and grow together.

A reminder all Hub programs will resume on Monday, 13 July. We wish everyone a restful and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming you back for another exciting term. We are especially excited about some of the events coming up in Term 3, including our 2026 Women’s Health Forum.
