Here is a snapshot to celebrate the fun filled learning and artmaking students have participated in on the Springvale Campus.

FLC students have experimented with painting and textile materials to make artwork. They produced linear marks, textured rubbings and experimented with painting tools to mix and make secondary colours and wax resistance paintings. They changed fabrics by fraying, pulling threads and applying colour with fabric markers and are currently using textile materials to produce imaginative collages.

JLC students used elements such as line, shape and colour to created paintings inspired by art elements and messages found in Joylene Reid Napangardi painting titled Women’s Ceremony and Wassily Kandinsky imaginative painting compositions,  inspired by Australian animals 

They experimented with collage techniques and arranged assorted craft paper onto a surface to create a collage inspired by Australian Animals and tree structures. They are currently developing skills in the use of textile materials in art making.    

MLC explored with the skills of tonal blending and wet on wet techniques to produce watercolour paintings inspired by the Surrealist artist Salvador Dali and acrylic landscapes inspired Claude Monet's water lilies series by Claude Monet.    

They are currently learning about the use of weaving looms to create textile art.     

SLC students used drawing and collage techniques to create realistic tonal drawings and photocollage inspired by David Hockney’s art. They used techniques to improve hand eye coordination by focusing on one square at a time to you train the eye to see abstract shapes rather than the object and replicate small, scaled details and values. They have created marbling and abstract paintings techniques, developed skills in colour blending to create patterns and images inspired by the abstract artist Jackson Pollock.
