Highlights from Heights
Term 2 has been another busy and productive term with students engaging enthusiastically in their learning and making great progress.
This week, families received their child's Semester 1 report and many took the opportunity to attend Parent–Teacher Interviews. These conversations provide valuable opportunities to celebrate student achievements, discuss progress and identify next steps for learning. We hope families also enjoyed hearing about a sample of their child’s work and that our students felt proud to share their learning and accomplishments.
A special congratulations goes to our Heights Campus Vietnamese Dancing Group, who performed at assembly last week. The students did a fantastic job, showcasing their confidence and talent. If you were unable to attend the assembly, a video of the performance is available on our Facebook page.
As we head into the school holidays, we would like to remind families that school crossing supervisors are not on duty during holiday periods. Please take extra care when travelling around school areas and roads.
We also remind families that the use of e-bikes and e-scooters by children is subject to Victorian road laws, and many devices are not legal to ride on public roads, footpaths or shared paths.
The holidays are also a wonderful opportunity for children to continue learning through everyday experiences. Some simple activities families might enjoy include:
Visiting your Springvale Library and borrowing books together.
Practising reading for 10–15 minutes each day.
Cooking together and exploring measurement, counting and following instructions.
Visiting local parks and playgrounds.
We wish all of our students and families a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday break and look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 13th July for the beginning of Term 3.
