SENIOR STUDY
While the school gates may have been quieter over the holidays, there was still plenty of learning, connection and community happening at Mount Alvernia College!
Our Year 12 students made excellent use of the holidays, with more than 20 students attending each of our two Senior Study sessions in preparation for their upcoming External Examinations. The sessions provided dedicated time and space for students to work independently or in groups, complete past papers and practice exams, revise key content and establish positive study routines ahead of this important period.
We were also delighted to welcome back two of our 2025 Graduate Academic Mentors, who supported our students throughout the sessions and shared their own experiences of navigating senior study and External Examinations. Their presence was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our community and the opportunity for our graduates to continue contributing to the learning journeys of those who follow them.
Of course, focused study requires plenty of fuel! Our Year 12s were well sustained by Chocolate Mud Cake, Arnott’s biscuits, Cinnabon Cake, fruit, and plenty of hot chocolates — all important ingredients for a productive study session!

LA LUCE
At the other end of the holidays, we also welcomed our Graduates of 2033 — current Year 5 students — for another wonderful La Luce transition experience.
Through a series of games, challenges and interactive team-based conquests, our future students were encouraged to collaborate, communicate, think critically and problem-solve together. There was plenty of energy, laughter and friendly competition as the girls worked with new friends, shared ideas and discovered different ways to contribute to their teams.
La Luce provides our future students with an exciting introduction to the Mount Alvernia College community well before they officially commence Year 7. It was wonderful to see our Graduates of 2033 already embracing the spirit of our college — curious, connected, courageous and willing to have a go.

From our newest future students to those preparing to complete their final examinations, these holiday programs are a wonderful reflection of our commitment to learning, connection and community at every stage of the Mount Alvernia journey.
Warm regards,
