Artists of the Week

Term 4

Week 2

Congratulations to Willow Brabner, Year 12 our Artist of the Week

Acrylic on leather

Willow explores themes of friendship, nostalgia and shared memories in this impressionist-style painting inspired by a holiday with friends. Viewed from behind as the group travels across the water towards the city skyline, the work captures a quiet moment of togetherness and the feeling of looking back on a special experience.

Through soft pastel tones, visible brushwork and reflections of light across the water, Willow creates a warm, dreamlike quality that complements the personal and nostalgic nature of the piece.

Week 1

Congratulations to our Artists of the Week for Term 4, Week 1 – Lucas, Finlay, Archer and Noah! Below is a summary from Ms Carly Doctor about how they earned the award.

These four fabulous students: Lucas Koulmandas, Finlay Picking, Archer Tang, and Noah Vu have been chosen as our Artists of the Week for the wonderful effort they put into their Melodrama performance CAT.

It was such a pleasure to watch them grow in confidence throughout the rehearsal process. They worked so well together, stayed focused and positive, and listened carefully to feedback, making a real effort to apply it and improve each time they rehearsed.

Their outstanding expressive skills really brought their characters to life, with strong voices, facial expressions, movement and gestures. They also showed an exceptional attitude and took real pride in making sure their set changes were smooth, organised and well coordinated.

I was especially impressed by their teamwork, commitment and willingness to keep improving. They should be very proud of the performance they created!
