Guest Speaker

On Friday 8/8, the college welcomed back past student Emma Bamford to speak with our Languages classes.

Emma, who graduated from Gisborne Secondary in 2021, has continued to pursue her passion for Indonesian studies at university. Recently, she was awarded the New Colombo Plan scholarship—a program dedicated to enhancing Australian university students’ understanding of the Indo-Pacific region by supporting them to undertake study and internship opportunities there.

During her visit, Emma shared her language learning experiences with current students and provided them with advice about how to make the most of their language education and the opportunities available to them. Our students left feeling inspired.
