Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we move further into the term, I would like to take this opportunity to share a few important reminders and updates with our school community.

SunSmart – Hats Required Until 30 April

As part of our commitment to being a SunSmart school, all students are required to wear their school hats when outside during Terms 1 and 4. This requirement remains in place until 30 April. Please ensure your child brings a clearly named school hat each day so they can comfortably and safely participate in outdoor learning and play.

Stop Work Day – Tuesday 24 March

Please be advised that there will be a Stop Work Day on Tuesday 24 March. As a result, school will not be operating as usual on this day. Families are encouraged to begin considering alternative care arrangements for their children. We will share further details with our community this Friday once additional information becomes available.

School Hours Reminder

A friendly reminder that the school grounds and office are not open until 8:20am each morning.

The school yard is supervised by staff from 8:30am, when students are able to safely enter the yard before the start of the school day.

The only exception is Wednesday mornings, when Breakfast Club operates from 8:00am.

If families need to drop children at school prior to 8:30am, students must be registered with OSH Care through Camp Australia, who provide supervised care before school.

Your support in ensuring students are not arriving too early helps us maintain a safe and well-supervised environment for everyone.

Wonderful News from Guide Dogs Victoria – Paige’s Puppies!

We are delighted to share a fantastic update from Guide Dogs Victoria regarding our beloved Paige’s puppies.

Out of Paige’s litter, four of the five puppies have successfully passed their initial assessments and have now commenced the next stage of their journey — five months of formal Guide Dog Training.

  • Zorko, Zoot and Zoltan have commenced their guide dog training programs.
  • Paige’s daughter Frankie has been selected to become a Guide Dog Breeding Dog, following proudly in her mum Paige’s pawprints!

This is an incredible achievement and something our whole community can celebrate. We are so proud of Paige and her puppies and will continue to follow their journeys with great interest.

Assembly – Friday at 2:20pm

Our whole school assembly will be held this Friday at 2:20pm. Families are welcome to attend and join us as we celebrate student achievements and acknowledge students demonstrating our school values of Collaboration, Perseverance and Respect through our Heights Heroes Awards.

NAPLAN

Congratulations to our Year 3 and 5 students who have been completing NAPLAN testing over the past week. Your hard work and perseverance has been outstanding. Thank you to all of the IT Team and staff for their support of this process.

Rewards Points – Cash In Week

This week is Rewards Points Cash-In Week as part of our School Wide Positive Behaviour Support program.

Students who have been earning points for demonstrating our school values can choose to redeem their points for rewards, or they may decide to continue saving for a larger reward later in the year.

It has been wonderful to see so many students proudly earning their points through positive actions across the school.

A big thank you to families for supporting us in reinforcing these behaviours and celebrating our shared values at home as well.

Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our school community.
