End of Term Celebration – Colour Blast Fundraiser!
Get ready for an explosion of colour, energy, and school spirit! Our Senior College Captains are planning an incredible Colour Fun Run to celebrate the end of term, bringing students and staff together for a fun, inclusive, and unforgettable experience.
Participants will make their way through an obstacle-style course while being showered with coloured powder (and squirted with water- optional) at different checkpoints.
This student-led fundraiser is not just about fun, it’s about legacy. The captains have chosen to put all funds raised towards more seating (benches) around the school, a lasting contribution for future students to enjoy.
To secure your child’s spot please consent and pay on Compass ASAP!
The Connect Class with the most participants wins a pizza lunch!!
Event Details:
- Date: Friday 2nd of April (last day of term)
- Time: 2nd half of lunchtime and Period 5
- Location: School oval
- Entry Fee: $12 per student.
- What to wear: White t-shirt, old clothing, runners. Sunglasses are recommended (for eye protection). Bring an old towel/rubbish bag to sit on when you’re done.
SRC Report
Our second SRC meeting of the year was very productive.
SRC INITIATIVES:
Sustainability update
With one of our major goals this year being to champion sustainability, Highvale has joined the 10-cent bottle recycling program to reduce our carbon footprint! While a formal bin system is still being discussed, we hope this can be the first step of many promoting environmentalism at our college.
If you collect any cans/bottles at home, you can either bring them into the College or simply select Highvale Secondary College as your chosen community organisation at your local refund point, or search for us using the program’s donation partner tool.
Our Donation Partner ID is C2000078772.
All funds raised will go directly to supporting the SRC budget.
Suggestion boxes
Another system we hope to formalise this academic year are Year Level suggestion boxes, through which student agency can be further amplified and addressed in our fortnightly meetings. The physical boxes are currently in the process of being completed, so please watch this space for future updates on this initiative!
EVENT NEWS:
Bake Sale
A bake sale will be held during recess on the day of the colour run (April 2nd). All proceeds will go to SRC for the funding of future school events. Bring some gold coins to the courtyard to purchase home-baked goods. Volunteer bakers welcome! Please contact Ms. Gomes or the SRC captains via email to discuss this matter in detail.
Congratulations:
Finally, a huge congratulations to Ayson X. who has recently been reappointed as a representative of the 2026 Student Executive Advisory Committee for the Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) for a second term.
VicSRC is the peak body and leading advocate for school-aged students in Victoria. Established by students, VicSRC serves as the voice for primary and secondary school students at the highest levels of decision-making within Victorian education.
