Blackwood-Hey Knights!!

As this newsletter marks the beginning of an amazing new year, we’d like to introduce ourselves as your 2025 House Captains of Blackwood, Rachel and Rishit! We would also love to take this opportunity to thank our Student Leaders of 2024 for a fun-filled year, Harguan and Wiltberg (House Captains), Rachel and Michaelangelo (Vice House Captains), Caitlin (Chorals), Sam (Sports), Siya (Arts), Keyara (Initiatives), Emma (Wellbeing), Rama (Year 12 SRC), Diya (Year 11 SRC) and Marley (Year 10 SRC).

 

Whilst our streak of winning has been broken since 2023, this did not mark a step back for Blackwood, but instead a step forwards in regards to achievements and accomplishments made by students. Although coming second in every event might bring some of us down, we would like to take a look back through the achievements made. 

  1. Coming SECOND in Athletics - the first time our house has done so well in the history of Athletic Carnivals.
  2. Coming first for House Drama and Scripted Performances - wouldn’t have been possible without the commitments made by students and Siya!!
  3. Our Chorals Rock Band performance on Presentation Evening - special thanks to Keyara, Dev, Ojas, Vinh, Harguan, Hiumi, Jasmine and Jayme.
  4. and more 😋😋

Hey Kororoit!!

Firstly, congratulations to the whole house for achieving truly a once in a lifetime, never seen before, record-NOT BREAKING, BUT SHATTERING year, taking away 14!?!? first place victories, and securing the cup! However, this feat was only achieved because of your countless efforts and contributions over the past year. Let’s take this up a notch, so in 2025 we can not only match last year’s success, but raise the bar even higher. Of course, to achieve this, we had to recruit a team with only THE BEST. So we are proud to present the 2025 Kororoit Leadership Team-

Huge shoutout to Metheshr and Leyna for their inspiring leadership, dedication, and obviously, victory this year, setting the path for us to follow. We also have to give a massive thank you to our Heads of House; Engagement Coordinator Mr Duckworth, Wellbeing Coordinator Ms Stathopolous, and the one and only Ms. Nguyen, for going truly above and beyond in your support for Kororoit. Finally, it’s important to recognise the 2024 Kororoit Leadership Team, you guys were incredible and your hard work and passion made this year one to remember.

As you can see, stepping into the role of House Captain after Metheshr & Leyna’s incredible victory over the past year is both inspiring, and EXTREMELY challenging. They have most definitely set the high standards expected from the house captains, and we’re looking forward to uphold this coming into 2025.

Hey Rothwell !!

BRRR ITS COLD IN HERE, THERE MUST BE SOME ALPHAS IN THE ATMOSPHERE🐺🥶‼️⚠️💯🔥

Congrats! We pretty much made it through the year fairly unscathed. Even though we came last, if you flip the order around, we actually came first !!!! Trust the comeback is real👍😻Next year is definitely our year. Friendship is magic🦄🌈,  I trust that if we work together, we won't come last again🙅‍♂️🙅‍♀️. 

 

As the year comes to a close, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the 2024 house captains, Anjali and Malakai for all their amazing hard work and effort throughout the year. This gratitude extends to the entire 2024 leadership team: Rhianna Laguesma (Year 11 Vice House Captain), Aryan Singh (Year 10 Vice House Captain), Mandy Diep (Chorals), Freddy Collard (Sports), Niharika Chopra (Arts), Akshaya Ajbani (Initiatives), Manasvi Vasamsetti (Wellbeing), Zayaan Haq (Year 12 SRC), Jayesh Mohan (Year 11 SRC) and Avani Malali (Year 10 SRC). Along with Ms Carrol and Mr Kelly, who have continuously supported and helped us throughout the year so far 💛.With that being said, we’d like to introduce the 2025 Rothwell leadership team! :

As some of you may already know, Ms Carrol and Mr Kelly (undoubtedly the goats🐐of Rothwell) are sadly leaving us. We would like to thank them for helping to make Rothwell what it is today and wish them all the best. They have truly been the backbone of our house, supporting us through every step, and for that, from the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Ms Carrol and Mr Kelly for everything💛. 

However, on the flip side, we have Ms Muslayah and Mr Ograk stepping up to be our 2025 Engagement and Wellbeing coordinators🎉🎉. We look forward to working alongside them and can't wait to see what next year has in store for Rothwell. 

Ultimately, we laid a very solid foundation for next year. From Roth bottom, the only way from here is up☝️! We all know that Kororoit cheated this year and we were robbed 😡😡, but we all know that this year was only a warmup and that next year is our year, the Rothwell year 🦅. So when you go to sleep tonight, when you sit your next sac or exam, or even when you are in the bathroom, just remember that no matter what happens, next year is the Rothwell year 🦅, it is our year 🦅and it is our time to stand atop the shoulders of the giants that have come before us and lift the 2025 house cup🦅🏆.

Hello Apollo House!!

We’re thrilled to announce our new house name—APOLLO, a name that stands for brightness, ambition, and reaching for the stars! With a fresh start comes a fresh spirit, and we're ready to make this year one for the history books. This is just the beginning of many achievements, friendships and memories yet to be made.  

We’d like to take a moment to extend a HUGE thank you to our incredible 2024 Student Leaders, Lilliana and Khathab (House Captains), Vishesh and Prisha (Vice House Captains), Srinidhi (Chorals), Gregor (Sports), Sargun (Arts), Diya (Initiatives), Augustine (Wellbeing), Sofia (Year 12 SRC), Rithvik (Year 11 SRC), Asliyah (Year 10 SRC) and Fatima (Year 9 SRC). They did an AMAZING job at creating a memorable year for everyone and building the perfect foundations for Apollo to rise again.
