The Zoos Victoria Careers Expo
Who: The Zoos Victoria Careers Expo is designed for students in Years 9–12 who are interested in animals, wildlife, conservation, sustainability, science, or the environment. While many attendees are students in Years 9–12, the event is also open to young people exploring future pathways outside of school settings.
What: This two-day event at Melbourne Zoo gives young people the opportunity to explore future study and career pathways through presentations, interactive workshops, and exhibitor experiences with zoos, universities, conservation organisations, and industry professionals.
When: Thursday 9 and Friday 10 July 2026, 9:00am–2:30pm.
Where: Melbourne Zoo.
Cost: Entry is $28.50 per student, which includes Melbourne Zoo admission and access to all presentation sessions. Optional hands-on workshops are available for an additional $10 each.

Young Carer Scholarship 2026 NOW OPEN!

The Young Carer Scholarship Program gives young carers opportunities to grow outside of their caring roles. These grants can be used for further education, joining in school or community activities or helping young carers to further their creative or sporting passions.
Who can apply?
Secondary school students in Victoria who give care and support to a family member with a disability, mental illness, chronic health issue or an older person with care needs.
Please note all applicants must have the consent of a parent or guardian before submitting.
Being awarded the Young Carer Scholarship made me feel deeply appreciated and recognized for the efforts I put into balancing my caregiving responsibilities and education.

What can be applied for?
Scholarships are up to $500. Scholarships can be awarded for:
- school or community based classes/ activities, such as camps and excursions
- sporting club participation fees
- tutoring
- skills-based activities and lessons such as: dance, music, fitness or driving
- club memberships
- direct educational expenses such as compulsory fees, books and uniforms
Scholarships are paid as a Prezzee Visa Digital Gift Card which will be sent to a nominated Australian email address and can be used anywhere Visa is accepted.
