Nourish Workshop - Bellarine Peninsula

Our passionate Agriculture Teacher, Amanda McClaren, travelled three hours on Saturday to attend the Nourish Workshop at Bellarine Peninsula Secondary College in Drysdale, hearing from Farm My School CEO James McLennan.

Farm My School is transforming unused school sporting grounds across the Bellarine and South West Victoria into productive market gardens.

At Seymour College, we are fortunate to have our own 15-acre Agriculture Campus, and Mrs McClaren has returned inspired with exciting ideas for the future. Watch this space, Seymour — big things are coming!

🐟 Exciting Fishy News!

Seymour College is proud to continue our partnership with Native Fish Australia and

La Trobe University’s Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary, to help save the endangered Southern purple-spotted gudgeon. Once thought extinct in Victoria, these resilient "Zombie fish" are being bred right here on our campus to help restore local populations.

Last week, experts Tim Curmi (NFA) and Jane (La Trobe) visited to service our dedicated aquatic tanks, replenishing our fish stock and adding new native plants to optimize the habitat. We are thrilled to host this specialized breeding program and look forward to releasing these incredible fish back into our local waterways!

Secondary Assessment & Reporting Update

At the end of this term Semester Reports will be released, however families do not need to wait until then to see how their child is progressing. Student progress can be monitored throughout the semester using Compass. Teachers regularly upload assessment results, providing up-to-date information about student learning and achievement.

Checking Compass regularly can help students stay organised and identify any areas needing support before Semester Reports are published. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the relevant teachers, as early communication and support can make a significant difference to student success.
