School-Based Apprentice
Antonio Russo (AJ) is a Year 12 student at Seymour College. AJ travels from Heathcote to Seymour to attend school. AJ has always had an interest in cooking. He commenced VET Hospitality each Wednesday at Assumption College this year and really enjoys the learning.
AJ commenced some work placement at Segafredo’s Bakery in Heathcote and enjoyed this work. He then started working casually and decided he wanted to consider a career in Baking, especially as the workplace exposed AJ to all aspects of baking including bread, pastry and cakes and slices. AJ approached Mark Segafredo, his employer, who was very comfortable in supporting AJ as a school-based apprentice. Mark could see AJ’s potential and initiative in the workplace. AJ will work one shift during the week and some weekend shifts. This is a great outcome for both AJ and Mark.
Congratulations AJ.
