Education Week Open Afternoon
On Thursday 21 May Seymour College primary sector opened its doors and welcomed parents, grandparents, guardians and loved ones to celebrate Education Week with various activities across the sector.
It was a fantastic afternoon, and we thank everyone who came to support Education Week with our students.
F-2 Report
Last week our F-2 students participated in a series of games on the oval. Students rotated through parachute chase, rob the nest, tag, and the floor is lava on the playground.
Classes were mixed to allow students to engage with their peers from across all F-2 grades. It was a wonderful afternoon watching students interact with each other and demonstrate inclusive practices.
All students participated and displayed all of our school values. Respecting each other and their leaders, inspiring each other with teamwork and encouragement and excellence through their resilience and determination at each activity.
Students cannot wait to do it again in a few short weeks!
Skating with Year 5/6A
The Gnarly Neighbours Mentoring Program began on Thursday 14 May, with Year 5/6A being the first class to trial our brand-new skateboard set. Our Year 7 to 10 mentors did an amazing job teaching a class for the first time. We believe the program will support a positive transition for our primary students into high school.
Thanks to Brad from Gnarly Neighbours who has mentored our secondary students to teach skills.
Junior Cross Country 🏃♀️🏃♂️
On Friday 1 May, our Junior Cross Country was held and what a fantastic day it was! All students did an amazing job running proudly for their house colours, showing great determination, sportsmanship, and encouragement towards one another.
It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, students trying their best, and cheering on their classmates throughout the event. We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated and represented their houses with enthusiasm and team spirit.
A huge congratulations to all our runners for their outstanding effort and resilience on the day! 💪🎉💙❤️💛💚
