Defence News

Defence Club has been full of fun, connection, and leadership over the past few weeks. Our popular hot chocolate afternoons continue to be a favourite, with students enjoying warm hot chocolates and marshmallows while spending time together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. A big thank you to our wonderful student helpers who have been assisting with serving, setting up, and helping younger students feel included — it has been fantastic seeing their leadership skills shine.

Students have also been enjoying a range of social activities, including bingo games, which have created plenty of laughs, friendly competition, and opportunities for new friendships to form across year levels.

Our Year 11 and 12 VM students recently visited the local RSL as part of their continued connection with the veteran community. Students had the opportunity to hear stories, learn more about Australia’s military history, and strengthen the important relationship between Seymour College and our local veterans. Experiences like these continue to provide valuable learning opportunities while building respect and understanding for service and community.

It has been wonderful to see so many students attending Defence Club regularly and creating such a supportive and welcoming space for one another.

If there have been any changes in family circumstances, living arrangements, parental absence due to field exercises, deployment, or anything else that may impact your child’s wellbeing or learning, please don’t hesitate to let me know so I can best support your child during this time.
