Elite Volleyball Program

Nikki Laird - Project Officer EVP

Record AVSC Representation

The Elite Volleyball Program will send its largest contingent ever to the Australian Volleyball Schools Cup, with 11 teams competing, including four at the prestigious Honours level. This record representation demonstrates not only the growth in program participation but also the increasing depth of top-level performance across our cohorts. Our athletes have been training diligently in preparation for this pinnacle event, and we look forward to watching them compete on the national stage while representing The Gap State High School with pride and excellence.

World Championships Preparation Underway

Our 24 students traveling to Adelaide for the Beach Volleyball World Championships are finalising their preparation for this unique experience. Athletes are researching and creating their lists of world-class competitors they hope to meet while also preparing for their volunteering roles as court officials. This opportunity extends well beyond watching elite competition, students will gain behind-the-scenes insights into timeout strategies, athlete communications, event management, and high-level officiating. These transferable skills will enhance their understanding of volleyball at the elite level and develop capabilities that extend far beyond the game itself.

Program Growth Continues with 2026 Cohort

As the year wraps up, we are excited to welcome our 2026 Year 7 athletes into the EVP family. With this incoming cohort, total program participation will grow to almost 200 students across all year levels. This remarkable growth reflects the strength of our program's reputation, the quality of our development pathways, and the culture we've built together. We look forward to watching these young athletes begin their EVP journey and contribute to the continued success and legacy of our program.
