Mrs Carolyn Speers - Deputy Principal Year 8

As we step into November, our school community is gearing up for an exciting period of celebration as we honour the achievements of our Year 12 students and recognise the end of their secondary schooling. Next week we will host the Graduation ceremony, this event marks an important milestone that reflects the hard work, resilience and commitment our students have shown over many years. It promises to be a celebration of friendship, achievement and reflection as our Year 12 students prepare for the next stage of their lives.

We also extend our warmest farewell to many of our international students who have enriched our school with their cultures, perspectives and presence. We are grateful for the connections and experiences we have shared, and we wish them every success as they move forward into new opportunities.

To our parents and caregivers, thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year. Your partnership is essential to the strength of our school community, and we look forward to celebrating these special moments with you in the coming days.

For our Years 10 and 11 students, the first round of internal assessments is approaching. This is an important chance to showcase learning, deepen understanding and continue building the skills needed for senior studies. We encourage students to approach these assessments with focus and determination. Teachers and support staff are ready to offer guidance, encouragement and resources to help every student feel confident and prepared.

This is also a good time for students to manage their workloads carefully, maintain strong study routines and ask for help when needed. We are proud of the effort our students are putting into their learning. We remind everyone to look after their wellbeing by getting enough rest, staying active and balancing study with activities that bring joy and connection.

Week 10: Monday 8 December – Curriculum Enhancement Week                     Preferred Uniform: Sports

School is open for years 7, 8 and 9 students. During this week students will participate in curriculum-based engagement, cultural activities and wellbeing activities (see examples below). This means that students will not have their regular teachers or classrooms. Activities during this week will be school-based and likely involve a combination of students across Years 7-9.

Important: Regular processes still apply for advising of student absence, so we can ensure accuracy of student attendance.

SMS messaging will still occur as scheduled to advise of student absence from school.

Student attendance will not be expected in this week.  Please note that tuckshop offerings will be reduced in line with the reduced numbers of students in week 10.
