P-2 SPORTS
Good luck to everyone with our P-2 Sports today and thanks in advance to the many parents that we know will be coming along to support and encourage the kids.
The kids certainly had a great time and were well supported by the SEDA students and our grade 5/6 sporting house reps.
5/6 MELBOURNE CAMP
The first of 2 groups are in Melbourne as we speak and the next heads off tomorrow morning. I’m lucky enough to join the 2nd group. It’s fabulous to have a large contingent of parents come along, enabling us to have small groups as we make our way around the city.
The Melbourne Camp is great for the kids as they take responsibility for finding their way around, familiarising themselves with key landmarks and the public transport system, all with the support of staff and parents.
TRANSITION FROM KINDER TO PREP
Our Pre-Schooler Program has been running successfully in early term 4 for many years and provides an excellent opportunity for students to become familiar and comfortable with primary school.
The Pre-Schooler Program for 2023 started last week and it was lovely to host an excited, although slightly nervous, cohort of kinder kids at both campuses. The children were remarkably settled, and no doubt will feel more comfortable and confident in the school environment as the program continues.
ENERGY BREAKTHROUGH (EBT) BBQ
Last Saturday we held a BBQ at the Bunnings in Delacombe to raise funds to support this year’s EBT campaign. Thanks to the staff and parents that helped out. We had a steady stream of customers all day, making it a successful fundraiser.
Start Dates for 2024
We know that some of you will already be planning summer holidays and will be keen to know school start dates for 2024.
- Teachers are officially back at work on Monday, January 29
- Grade 1-6 students start back on Wednesday, January 31 (Prep parents will have the chance to have a Meet and Greet with Prep teachers on this day)
- Prep students start on Thursday February 1
For those planning a little further ahead:
· Term 1 ends Thursday, March 28
· Term 2 starts Monday April 15
