Special Highlights For Indonesian

1. Lomba Kelereng

To extend the fun of celebrating Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, our GRPS language learners took on the exciting challenge of Lomba Kelereng (the traditional marble-and-spoon race)!

With plenty of laughter and friendly competition, our students not only had a fantastic time but also discovered the power of teamwork, perseverance, and supporting one another—values that echo the courage and unity of the Indonesian warriors who fearlessly fought for their nation’s freedom.

Well done, Superstars! Your teamwork and enthusiasm made the celebration extra special!

2. Nasi Goreng

The most exciting and memorable part of our celebration was making and tasting Nasi Goreng (Indonesian Fried Rice) together as a class. 

Some students had the chance to show off and sharpen their cooking skills, while others bravely stepped out of their comfort zones to try green peas and rice! The best moment of all? Hearing students ask for more Nasi Goreng! Bu Sia was absolutely over the moon and so proud of every single one of them! 

A big well done to those who continued the fun at home and tried making Nasi Goreng with their families. Bagus sekali!

3. Wayang Kulit

Our students’ very first Indonesian Shadow Puppet Show is on its way!

After exploring a little more about Indonesian culture and discovering the fascinating story of Ramayana, our learners began choosing their favourite characters and bringing them to life with their best colouring skills! 

In the upcoming Indonesian lessons, students will continue working on their characters before putting on their creative thinking hats to brainstorm the storylines for their very own shadow puppet show. Let's go, anak-anak!
