Aussie of the Month

Congratulations to our September Aussie of the Month  Declan Heap

This award recognises students who consistently demonstrate excellence across all areas of school life—both academically and personally. It celebrates students who make a positive difference to their school community every single day.

This student is a wonderful example of what our Aussie of the Month award represents. He consistently leads by example, demonstrating our school values both inside and outside the classroom. He is a mature, respectful and dependable member of our school community who can always be relied upon to do the right thing and support those around him.

He works hard across all areas of learning. He asks thoughtful questions, contributes valuable ideas to class discussions and always strives to do his best. He is polite and respectful, consistently uses his manners and is quick to offer encouragement and support whenever it is needed.

This student was elected by his classmates as 2A’s Green Team representative, showing the respect and trust his peers have in him. He takes his responsibilities seriously and is often chosen to help his classmates, support teachers and ensure things run smoothly.

Declan may not always be the loudest person in the classroom, but he is certainly a quiet achiever. He leads through his actions, is always there to help those in need and sets an excellent example for others to follow.

At GRPS we believe it is important to acknowledge students that are actively contributing to our community in a positive way and are consistently demonstrating our school values of respect, responsibility and a learner.

What are some things you like to do outside of school?

Playing basketball, playing on my ipad and playing with my brother.

What makes you happy?

My friends playing with me and eating food.  

How do you like to help others at school?

Asking if they are ok or ask if I can do anything to help them.

What’s a goal you have for yourself this year?

Score more points at basketball.
