Future Lions Roar into the Academy
Clayfield College celebrates emerging sporting talent, with two students recently earning selection into the prestigious Brisbane Lions Academy.
Year 8 student Benjamin Fields and Year 7 student Sienna Tate have both been invited to join the Academy, a significant achievement that recognises their talent, commitment, and potential within Australian Rules Football.
The Brisbane Lions Academy provides identified athletes with access to high-performance coaching, specialist development opportunities, and elite competition experiences, supporting the next generation of Queensland footballers on their sporting journey.
Benjamin and Sienna will join fellow Clayfield student Riley Taylor (Year 9), who is already a valued member of the Academy program, while following in the footsteps of Mia Geere (Class of 2025), whose involvement highlighted the growing strength of Clayfield’s AFL pathway.
Selection into the Academy is highly competitive, making this achievement a testament to the dedication both athletes have shown to their development and performance. Their success reflects not only individual commitment but also the strong sporting culture and opportunities available within the Clayfield College community.
We congratulate Benjamin and Sienna on this outstanding accomplishment and look forward to following their continued growth in the Brisbane Lions Academy.

Pre Prep to Year 1 Cross Country Event
It was a spirited and colourful afternoon on the oval as our Pre-Prep to Year 1 students came together to celebrate their Cross-Country Carnival. The field was full of spirit, as students proudly represented their House.
The event began with our youngest runners, the Pre-Prep students, who confidently completed one lap of the course, cheered on by their friends and families. Next, the Prep students embraced the challenge of two laps, demonstrating wonderful determination and enthusiasm. Finally, our Year 1 students took to the course, beaming with pride and perseverance as they tackled three laps, giving their all.
Each student should feel incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented their House with such energy and commitment. We look forward to seeing their House spirit continue to shine at Games Day next term.
A huge thank you to all the family and friends who came along to support the event. Your cheers, encouragement, and House pride helped inspire our young runners to the finish line.
