Boarding News
Dear Parents and Guardians,
It’s been a smooth start to Term Four with the boys returning refreshed from their holiday break and we welcome Dakoda and his family from Tom Price to our Boarding community.
Last Friday, the announcement of 2026 College leaders took place and I’m delighted to let our Boarding family know that the Head Boarder for 2026 will be Ryan W and Deputy Head Boarder, Lucas B. The leadership process involved five components, a presentation to the Boarding House, an interview, submission of a personal statement, student and staff voting and attendance at the College Leadership Camp. I want to congratulate Ryan and Lucas for their achievements and I also thank and congratulate all the candidates who put themselves forward for leadership.
This week we had the pleasure of hosting our Year 12 Boarding graduation dinner for the boys and their families and it was wonderful to be able to celebrate this milestone in the boys lives together. We wish the boys well for the future and know that they are more than ready to take on the exciting opportunities that exist beyond Mazenod College.
We are very excited to be able to share news about the next stage in the development of our boarding facilities. Due to the encouraging growth in enrolments, renovation works have commenced this week on Wilson House. This project represents another significant investment in ensuring that our boarding community continues to provide the very best living and learning environment for our young men.
The refurbishment of Wilson House will include ten new bedrooms, bathroom facilities, a staff unit, and a small common area designed to encourage connection and community among the boys. These upgrades will not only increase our capacity but will also enhance the comfort, supervision, and sense of belonging within the Cebula community.
