International Women's Day

On Friday, February 28th, we held an out of uniform day to celebrate International Women’s Day, and raise funds for Juno Services, a charity local to the Northern suburbs. Juno Services support women and non-binary people who are experiencing homelessness and domestic violence. To find out more about this organisation, please visit their website https://juno.org.au/.
To celebrate International Women’s Day, the Arts Committee organised and ran several activities for students to connect with and explore surrounding the theme of ‘March Forward’. Ms Salma and our Arts Captain Lauren Hunt created a display of inspirational women and their contributions to society. There was an art competition which was won by Luca Shippick of 10G, whose entry touched on feminism and unity.
A pledge wall was constructed in the STEAM centre for students to acknowledge important women in their lives by writing a shout out. Lastly, students were able to make their own badges to share a key message from the day.
A big thank you to everyone who participated or supported the day through a donation. Our Term 2 fundraiser will be in support of the Pride Foundation, connected to celebrating IDAHOBIT Day.
