Pi Day

Celebration a huge success!

On March 14th, Thornbury High School celebrated Pi Day with a fun-filled event that drew in a large crowd of enthusiastic students.

The occasion was marked with pi-related treats and a Pi Recitation Competition.

Students vied to recite the most digits of pi from memory. The competition was fierce, but in the end, Daniel Baillie of Year 12 emerged victorious, breaking the Thornbury High School record with an impressive 245 digits of pi. Amanda Feng of Year 8 in second place with an excellent 124 digits.

For the prize, Daniel and Amanda won the coveted opportunity to throw a pie in the face of Mr. Broadby, much to the delight of the crowd.

We are already looking forward to next year's event. Well done to all participants, and a big thank you to the organizers for making it a day to remember!
