Culture Committee

Late last year, THS students successfully advocated for the creation of a new Cultural Committee to represent the diverse voices and stories within our school community. 

We’re proud to have 16 passionate committee members, with 9 of them selected to attend the National Young Leaders Day, hosted by Halogen Foundation. The event featured inspiring talks from:  

• Thomas Duncan-Watt, multi-award-winning screenwriter & author 
• Emma McKeon, Australia’s most decorated Olympian 
• Majak Daw, the first Sudanese-Australian AFL player   
• Catherine Laga‘aia, the new Moana, acting alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson 

Our students were truly inspired by these incredible leaders and are now ready to bring their vision to life through the newly launched Culture Committee. This initiative gives students hands-on leadership experience while celebrating culture, identity, and belonging through language, storytelling, food, media, and service.
