Junior School Report

Mr Shane Maloney

As another school year draws to a close, we fondly reflect on all the wonderful memories made, we celebrate the exceptional achievements reached, all while having one eye to the future, as we take inspiration from what has been, to guide our way forward. 2024 has been a special year in the Junior School. Our Year 7 cohort is the largest we have had at Greensborough College for some time, and the whole-school community has been swept up by their energy, eagerness, and effervescence. You have adapted to life as a high-school student quicker than many before you, and we know you will continue to thrive in this environment in 2025, as Year 8 students. It has been heart warming to see our Year 8 cohort grow from strength to strength. You have welcomed the Year 7 students warmly and with care, and we could not be prouder of the maturity, responsibility, and compassion you have displayed throughout the year. The Junior-school will be in great hands next year, with you all leading by example and showing the younger year levels what it means to be a Greensborough College student. With mixed emotions, we say goodbye to our Year 9 students. When confronting your departure from the Junior-school, we reminisce on the bright-eyed primary-school kids you were on Orientation Day, to the L-Plate, casual-working, soon-to-be young adults you are now, and we do so with great pride and comfort, knowing that you are more than ready to confront anything that lay ahead.

Thank you to Mr Heading, Mrs Matheou, Ms Ramos, and Mrs Rowe for your work as Year Level Leaders this year.  The tireless work and long hours have not gone unnoticed, and the support and care you have given our students is greatly appreciated by the whole school community. All the best to Mr Heading in his new role as a Learning Specialist, and to Ms Ramos who continues to work in the Senior school.  It is with great pleasure that we welcome back Mrs Matheou and Mrs Rowe as Year Level Leaders next year.

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas break, and a lot of time having fun with family and friends.  See you all in 2025 😊
