Student and Sports Leadership Team
As we look back on the past year, our Student Leadership Team has made remarkable strides in fostering a positive and supportive school culture at Camden High. Throughout the year, we participated in various key events that not only enhanced our leadership skills but also allowed us to give back to our community.
We kicked off the year by attending leadership conferences in Sydney, where we gained valuable insights and strategies to implement at our school. We also embraced our role in peer mentoring, running a series of workshops with our Year 7 students focused on building friendships and navigating the challenges of high school life.
Our commitment to supporting younger students extended to the Razorback Sports Carnivals, where we assisted in encouraging participation and fostering a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship. Additionally, we took pride in organizing significant school events such as ANZAC Day commemorations and formal assemblies, which highlighted the importance of community and respect.
Our fundraising efforts were also impactful this year. We participated in the World’s Greatest Shave and Wear It Purple Day, advocating for awareness and support for LGBTQIA youth. These initiatives allowed us to promote inclusivity and understanding within our school community.
More recently the student leaders were involved in a fundraiser for Blue Wren House. We packed bags with essential items to be donated to the local domestic violence shelter. Our generous students and their families contributed a variety of items, demonstrating our strong community spirit.
Additionally, we received invaluable support from local businesses, including Camden Coles and Koala, who graciously donated bedding and children's toys, ensuring that those in need feel cared for and supported.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this important initiative!
Furthermore, we welcomed incoming students during Year 6 Orientation Days, providing guidance and support to help ease their transition into high school. It was heartening to see the excitement and anticipation in their eyes, and we were honored to play a part in their journey.
As we reflect on these accomplishments, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our outgoing team members, especially our Year 12 students, for their dedication and leadership throughout the year. Your contributions have left a lasting legacy at Camden High.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the potential of the 2025 Student Leadership Team and the new ideas and energy they will bring. Together, we can continue to make Camden High a welcoming and supportive environment for all students.
Thank you for a fantastic year!
