STAGE 4  

Year 7 

As the year comes to a close Year 7 have continued to explore the Water Safety content during their theory lessons in preparation for the Swim Scheme. Students enjoyed a fantastic day at URBNSURF in Homebush to demonstrate their water safety techniques and try their best at riding the waves on surf boards. During their practical lessons they have participated in various Cultural Games. 

 

Year 8  

During the last half of Term 4, Year 8 have been investigating Food Choices and ways to ensure they make nutritional and healthy meal selections. Outside the classroom they have continued to explore striking and fielding sports such as T-ball, Tennis and Pickleball. 

 

STAGE 5 

Year 9 PDHPE 

During Term 4 Year 9 have been learning about self-identity, culture and diversity. This unit of work includes the observation and development of strategies young people can utilise when faced with these barriers in sport and their everyday lives.  

 

 

Year 10 PDHPE 

Year 10 have been working through their Fit for Life activities and Independance Bootcamp. Their theory lessons have investigated creating appropriate workout plans and performing them at school using the school fitness lab. They have also learnt about various long-term injuries of sport such as HIA (Head Injury Assessment) and the protocols and management of these injuries. 

 

Year 9 PASS 

Year 9 PASS are learning about Sports for Specific groups in both theory and practical lessons. In this area of study students investigate sport specific groups from a historical perspective and the ways in which these historical moments have influenced sport.  

 

Year 10 PASS 

Year 10 PASS are learning about issues in sports, examining ethical and legal implications for participants, spectators and the community. The unit of work looks at doping in sport, ethical implications of actions in sport, racism, sponsorships and gender in sport.  

In Week 9, Year 10 Pass students had the opportunity to attend Urbn Surf at Homebush. During the excursion students took part in a water safety program as well as being able to learn to surf and test their skills on the waves.  

STAGE 6  

Year 12 PDHPE 

Stage 6 PDHPE are progressing well with their HSC course content investigating Factors Effecting Performance. The cohort recently completed their final assessment task for 2024 and are encouraged to make time during the holidays to regenerate for the 2025 schooling year.  

 

Year 12 SLR 

SLR students have completed the Aquatics unit and were able to attend URBNSURF in Homebush to perform their final assessment task. Students were required to demonstrate how to identify rips and currents, how to float in rips and currents and how to exit rips and currents. They also had the opportunity to learn to surf safely and show their skills in the wave pool.  

 

 

Year 12 Work Studies 

Stage 6 Work students are completing their Self Employment Module. During these activities students are creating business ideas in small groups and will have the opportunity to run this business during break times in 2025.
