Year 12 – Common Module: Texts and Human Experiences

Students have been studying the human experience through a variety of texts. The ever popular ‘Billy Elliot’ has been a delightful and inspiring text set for study. Students submitted a multimodal presentation which enabled them to deep dive into the film and a related text.

Over the summer holidays, encourage your child to hone their short answer skills and revise their knowledge of prescribed texts.

Year 10 – Exams and Get Set

Students in Year 10 have been working hard in the lead up to their entry into senior school. Some great exam practice rounded out their study throughout the year and are enjoying the Get Set programme.

Year 9 – Songs of Protest and Novel Study

Students in Year 9 have honed their civic skills through the study of songs related to protest. In this unit they began to learn how music gives voice to social issues that are important not only in Australia but globally. Students finished the year with a novel study, reading engaging novels that relate to their experiences in the world.

Year 8 – Performance Poetry

Students in Year 8 have been studying performance poetry and sharpened their ability to use stylistic devices and exhibit their creativity.

Year 7 – 500 Minutes of Danger

Students have been developing their exciting creative writing by studying the short story series ‘500 Minutes of Danger’. This is building up to students writing their own short story which they can refine over the summer holidays as an engaging project.
