From the Deputy Principals
As the year winds down, we continue to look toward what is next. Our 'Senior Engagement Strategy' runs from Year 10-12, with a range of initiatives to ensure that every student in the HSC achieves their personal best. Beginning with a strong subject selection process, we have formed relationships with students and parents, with the goal of senior pathway success in our sights. Project 10 has just successfully wrapped up, allowing the year group to reflect on the changes that are coming, as well as lay the foundation for high achievement. It's also a time for celebrating the outstanding accomplishments at the end of the first four years of high school.
Our attention shifts now to the beginning of Year 11. Every student in the senior school will be working towards their own individual pathway, which includes their pattern of study (the subjects that they will study) and their credential goal - either the HSC, or the HSC+ATAR (for university entrance). Be under no illusions, there is no such thing as an 'easy' way to the HSC - every pathway comes with the requirement of organisation, time management, resilience and drive. And, since these things aren't always naturally occurring within every 16 year-old, our Senior Engagement Strategy aims to equip them (and you!) with the tools needed to thrive through the HSC.
On Wednesday February 12, we will gather together with the parents and students for the first of our HSC+ATAR Collaboration Sessions. This is new for Camden High School, but we believe that it is so important to have everyone at home and school working together to support our seniors in achieving their personal best. So, if your child is pursuing a HSC+ATAR pathway next year, put that evening in your diary and set the time aside. We believe that it will be a worthwhile investment in successful senior schooling.
We are excited to continue working with you in 2025 supporting your children to achieve their very best. Thank you for your support throughout 2024 and have a happy and safe holiday season.
