Ways to Wellbeing

School Holiday Survival Guide

The Christmas Holiday break is upon us! And we hope that all the students and families of Camden High School have a restful and happy break.

We know that sometimes it can be challenging to find activities to keep our young people entertained.

If you are looking for some interesting, free events run by Camden Council, please visit their booking site:

Or if you would like to make some memories in the Wollondilly, check out the websites below:

If you want to try some relaxing and restorative activities at home, here is a top 10 from our Wellbeing team:

  1. Go for a run or do a body-based workout - (Mr. Berrell)
  2. Listen to music and play games on my computer - (Miss Russell)
  3. Try a new activity or go somewhere I haven't been before - (Mrs. Middleton)
  4. Go for a walk in the sun with my dog - (Miss Dargan)
  5. Get out in nature – go walking, trail running, biking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, camping - (Mr. Usher)
  6. Have a 'tech-free' day where I only use my phone as a phone and don't check messages or social media for the whole day - (Mr. Evangelista)
  7. Go for a swim, preferably in the ocean - (Mr. Garland)
  8. Have a cold shower or an ice bath - (Miss Hay)
  9. Every morning I do a 30 minute stretch while listening to chill music - (Mr. O'Brien)
  10. Spend time on my own pottering around the house and maybe re-read one of my favourite books - (Kristina)

And for those times when it all gets a little much during the holidays, always remember there are places you can turn to for support.

Additionally, Headspace has put together a flyer (see below) with resources and supports around our local area.

From all the wellbeing staff at CHS,

we wish you a wonderful holiday break.

Looking forward to seeing you in 2025!
