Physical Education News
It has been another busy term in Physical Education, with students proudly representing Oatlands in a range of sporting events.
Grade 6 Division Sport
Our Grade 6 students recently competed in the Division Sports competitions, with the girls playing AFL 9s and the boys competing in Soccer.
The girls had a fantastic tournament, winning two of their three games to finish 2nd overall. The boys recorded two wins and one draw before winning their semi-final in a penalty shootout. They then finished as runners-up after facing a very strong team in the Grand Final.
We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented Oatlands. Their effort, teamwork, resilience and outstanding sportsmanship were on display throughout the day.
Hoop Time Basketball
Earlier this term, our Grade 5 and 6 students competed in Hoop Time Basketball. Congratulations to our All-Star Girls Team, who went through undefeated and have qualified for the next round, and to one of our Future Stars teams, who finished runners-up in their competition. Well done to all students for their excellent teamwork and sportsmanship.
Junior Gymnastics
Junior students have been enjoying their Gymnastics unit, learning safe movement, balance and rolling skills. They have recently been introduced to the balance beam and wedge mat and have also challenged themselves with partner balances, including the "Double Decker Bus" position, pictured below.
Up next
We are now looking forward to our upcoming District and Division Athletics competitions and wish all competing students the very best.
