Jersey Update
Students who receive a jersey for any upcoming trial, gala day or interschool sport will be recorded as proof of this borrowing method. This will allow our school to continue to use these jerseys and have enough for all students to wear and represent our school proudly at the many sporting events we provide to all students. Once jerseys are washed and returned to the school office, our staff will mark that the jersey have been returned. Any jerseys not returned will incur replacement fee.
Please check the wardrobes at home and return any jerseys of any style (singlet, soccer jersey or footy jersey) which belongs to the school. Thank you for the cooperation with this matter.
Interschool Sport
Interschool Sport for 2026 has officially come to an end for this season. Thank you to all staff, students and parent spectators for contributing to these events. We would like to congratulate all of our students throughout the year who represented our school. The interschool sport initiative by SCS has provided a wonderful opportunity to participate in a friendly and for others a competitive competition while developing skills and fitness and learning valuable lessons about teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship and respect. Socialising with other schools in our network builds confidence and encourages students to learn from both their successes and challenges. We look forward to interschool sport fot 2027.
Sydney Athletics Championships
Congratulations on qualifying from the Conference Athletics trial to the Sydney Championships held on Friday 28th August. Congratulations Abigail D, Kyler R, Jordan G, Darcy H, Zara L and Noah O'C , we wish you best for tomorrow.
Sutherland Basketball Gala Day
Our Year 3 and 4 girls basketball gala day was a fantastic success with students enjoying a wonderful day of competition, teamwork and fun. Our girls demonstrates enthusiasm, skill and sportsmanship while supporting and encouraging one another throughout the day. Thank you to Sutherland Basketball for putting on this annual gala day for the local schools. We look forward to sharing the details for the 2027 gala days.
Optional Sutherland Hockey Gala Day Years 6 only
Our school has been invited to the Sutherland Hockey Club Gala Day on Tuesday 22nd September at Tradies Hockey Park (73 Sylvania Rd, Miranda) from approximately 8:30am-3:00pm. This year it will only be offered to Year 6 students due to swimming intensives for Years 2-5. Parents are required to transport their child to and from the grounds for this particular gala day.
Our school can only send limited teams based on equipment availability. At present this is an expression of interest and we will plan for this gala day based on numbers.
This gala day has been set up for beginner or experienced players. Therefore, if your child plays hockey or shows interest in the sport, this will be a great opportunity for them to be involved. Mouthguards and shin pads are compulsory in which all players will need to purchase. We have also been kindly supplied with a limited number of sticks and goalkeeping equipment.
Senior Mixed Team (Year 5 and 6)
If your child is interested in attending this gala day, please fill in the following Expression of Interest. This form will close on Friday 28th August. After registrations close, families will be notified of the outcome for this gala day.
Swimming Carnival
The Annual School Swimming Carnival for Years 3-6 will be held on Thursday 5th November 2026 at Engadine Swimming Pool. The carnival is a fun, school event but also acts as a trial for the Conference 3 Swimming event which will be held on Monday 8th February 2027. In the past all of Year 2 attended the swimming carnival but for 2026 only advanced Year 2 swimmers are invited. You can now also provide consent via COMPASS.
This year we have placed the Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students ‘’splash’’ water activities day on a separate day to the 3-6 swimming carnival to avoid any parent spectators racing between the two events. The information for this day will be shared in due course.
Please see the attached note and provide consent via COMPASS. Nominations for the timed races will close on the 25th September.
