From the Assistant Principal
Dear Families,
AMADEUS YEAR 3 2027
Today our Year 2 students will begin to instrument selection process as they enter Year 3 in 2027. The Amadeus tutors will demonstrate all of the instruments to students to assist them in making a decision around which instrument they may be interested in playing next year. They will watch a slideshow presentation followed by an instrument demonstration presented by Amadeus tutors and Year 6 students.
Students will be asked to rank their preferences from 1 to 5 for the following instruments; violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and baritone. The instrument assignment will be made based on student choice, ensemble balance and physical suitability for each instrument. A sheet for you to complete will be sent home on Friday.
It is important to understand that, much like a sports team needs players in a variety of positions, a music ensemble relies on a balanced mix of instruments in each section to achieve the best overall sound.
MUSICAL UPDATE
Our musical rehearsals continue to go from strength to strength. We are now almost through the entire show, which is looking great.
The show will be as follows -
Monday 30th November (leads, ensembles and Mackillop classes)
Tuesday 1st December (leads, ensembles and Nage classes)
Wednesday 2nd December (leads, ensembles and Patrick classes)
Each day, students will perform a dress rehearsal in front of some of our other classes so each student gets to see a performance of the show.
PERFORMANCE TIMES:
Each performance will begin at 6.30pm. The show will run until approximately 1.5 hours (including intermission)

COUNCIL OF CATHOLIC SCHOOL PARENTS
At a recent Assistant Principal's meeting, we were introduced to an organisation called the Council of Catholic School Parents. Since 1995, the Council of Catholic School Parents NSW (CCSP) has been the state peak body officially recognised by the Bishops of NSW to provide leadership, advocacy and support for parents and carers of children and young people in all NSW Catholic schools and represent their interests at state and national level.
