International Eucharistic Congress 

On Wednesday, I visited our Year 4 classes to share some exciting news about how Sydney Catholic Schools is preparing for the International Eucharistic Congress (Eucharist28), a significant celebration of faith taking place in 2028. As part of this journey, every SCS school will appoint two International Eucharistic Congress Student Ambassadors to help lead their community in faith, service, and Eucharistic renewal.

Students learned about the purpose of the IEC Ambassadors and the qualities we look for in young leaders who can encourage their peers in faith, support school liturgies, and represent St Patrick’s at key Archdiocesan events. I also explained the selection process, which includes a parent/carer nomination, a short student letter, and a brief parish priest reference.

A number of students were eager to be involved and took nomination forms home to discuss with their families. We look forward to discerning two Year 4 students who will serve our community with kindness, responsibility, and a heart for prayer and service.

Term 3

This term continues to offer rich opportunities for prayer and community through class liturgies, Parish Masses, Reconciliation, and the commencement of Holy Communion preparation sessions. We look forward to sharing these meaningful moments together.

As our Year 3 students begin preparation for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, we hold them especially in our prayers. May this time of learning, reflection, and faith formation deepen their understanding of Jesus’ love and strengthen their connection to our parish community. We pray that their families feel supported and blessed as they guide their children through this important step in their faith journey.
