Year 7 Volleyball Interschool Highlights

On Tuesday, 31 March, our Year 7 Girls and Mixed Volleyball teams travelled to Maroondah Nets in Heathmont to compete in their interschool volleyball competition. With back‑to‑back games against strong and competitive opponents, all teams demonstrated great determination and teamwork, each securing a win on the day.

While overall victory was just out of reach, the enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and positive attitude shown by all players were outstanding. Students represented Koonung Secondary College with pride, maintaining smiles throughout the day and behaving respectfully both on and off the court.

Mr Scott and I were extremely proud of the students’ efforts, resilience, and willingness to embrace every challenge with enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing many of these students involved in future interschool sporting events.

Whitehorse Division Swimming Carnival

On Monday 2nd March, a group of our students represented the college at the Whitehorse Division Swimming Carnival. Despite the rainy conditions throughout the day, our students maintained a positive attitude and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, supporting their teammates and representing the college in such a respectful and enthusiastic manner.

A special congratulations to James Allen, Justin Bao, Gabriele Herrington and William Thraves, who finished 1st in the 4x50m Freestyle Relay, progressing to the next stage of competition. Well done also to Leander Reichenback, Saxon Sauvey, Alyssa Lau and Aanya Engineer, who all finished 1st in their individual events on the day. We wish these students the best of luck as they go on to represent the college at the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Championships on Monday 30 March.

Congratulations again to all students who competed and represented the college so positively.
