It has been a busy time for sport to wrap up Term 3, and we have a lot to celebrate! This Term we participated in Year 3 and 4 Hoop-time, Year 5 and 6 Hooptime, Year 5 and 6 District Sport, Senior District Basketball AND Knox Division Athletics! A HUGE congratulations to all students who participated in these events, and a HUGE THANK YOU to all the parents who gave up their time to either coach, score or support our students, these events would not run without your continued support.
Congratulations to our Senior boys basketball team (Flynn H, Leo D, Alfie F, Jasper T, Elias K, Aiden D, Ryder A and Merrick H) who finished Runners up of the Wantirna District and Premiers of Hoop-time and will be competing not only at Hoop-time round 2, but also in the Knox Division Basketball competition in October! And a HUGE congratulations to Flynn H who was awarded MVP of the entire tournament!
Another congratulations to our Senior Girls Basketball team (Chloe A, Chloe V, Marley A, Allegra P, Anabelle L, Kalei P, Claire M and Olympia S), who finished 3rd in Wantirna District and received an invitation to compete in the Knox Division competition also in October.
In between chaotic weather, rescheduling of dates, venue changes and lots of training days, our Year 5 and 6 students competed in the Wantirna District Summer Sports this term. We displayed our talents and sportsmanship in Tennis, Cricket, Rounders, Softball and Volleyball over 2 days.
Well done to our Girls Rounders team (Larae F, Arshida H, Zahra N, Natalie A, Summer L, Iris Z, Olivia W, Jasmine W, Melissa K) for coming Runners up, our Boys and Girls Tennis B teams ( Walter S, Oliver K, Evan A, Gavin D, Zander B, Alfie F, Hunter T, Alex M, Brooklyn A, Emily G, Evelyn L, Jess H, Alice L, Anne S and Arada G) who both finished as Premiers, and our Boys Volleyball team (Hugo C, Nathan S, Jarrad V, Camden H, Ethan W, Eddie L, Jaxon L and Elias L) who finished Runners Up and will progress through to the Knox Division Volleyball finals in October!
On Wednesday 17th Sept, 22 of our talented athletes competed at the Knox Division Athletics Carnival. This alone is a huge achievement and all students displayed immense pride, sportsmanship and skills. Karoo had an extremely successful day, well done to Hunter T - 4th in hurdles, Flynn H - 6th in 200m, Leo D - 5th in 800 m, Kaitlyn S - 7th in 800m, Ava S - 3rd in 100 m, Lily V - 6th in 200m and 4th in Long jump, Mia M - 3rd in long jump and Kai W - 5th in 800m.
The following students will be progressing to the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Carnival in October in their events:
Ava S - 2nd in relay, Kirra T - 2nd in relay, Jade V - 2nd in relay, 2nd in shot put and 2nd in high jump, Zalia H - 2nd in relay and 1st in shot put, Lily V - 2nd in relay, Alira C - 2nd in relay, Natalie A - 2nd in relay, Alicia G - 2nd in relay, Kai W - 2nd in relay and 2nd in 200m, Yevin G - 2nd in relay, Timmy T - 2nd in relay, Sam G - 2nd in relay, 1st in shotput and 1st in discus, Alex G - 1st in triple jump and 2nd in high jump, Chloe V - 1st in triple jump and 1st in 800m, Anabelle L - 2nd in shot put and Jasper Z - 1st 200m.
