Dear Karoo PS Community,
I would like to extend my congratulations on the successful completion of Term 3, a term marked by significant learning and growth.
As the term draws to a close, it is an opportune moment to reflect on the many achievements of our students, staff and school community. Throughout the term, many have embraced a wide range of learning opportunities, demonstrating resilience in the face of challenges, gaining valuable insights, and celebrating well-deserved successes. I am very proud of the commitment, kindness, and enthusiasm that has been consistently displayed and how our school values have been upheld within the classroom, the playground, and the broader community.
As we bid farewell to Term 3, it's time to reflect on the remarkable experiences our students have had this term. It has been a term filled with growth, achievements, and memorable experiences.
Some of the highlights this term have been:
Ms Smith, through KPS’s Garden, was recently nominated for the ‘Kitchen Garden Champion’ award. This encompasses the work that Ms Smith has engaged in by bringing our school community and student leaders together to support the planting and maintaining of the garden. On Monday the 15th September, Ms Smith attended an award presentation ceremony in Mount Evelyn, and though not successful at winning the award this time, did make it into the final 7 nominations. The awards were announced by Kosta, from Gardening Australia, who personally congratulated Ms Smith (please check out our facebook page for the video). A well done to the Ms Smith and her work in with our garden, as well as our parent volunteers and student leaders.
Unbelievable!! What a sensational job our dance and choir performers did when they performed in both the matinee and evening shows at John Cain Arena on Saturday 13th September. A lot of work and preparation had been put in by students and families, but a special shoutout to Ms Tiana Dias (dance), Ms Sarah Dobson (dance), Ms Tia Beagley (choir) and Ms Karla Markovic (choir) for getting our students ready for the big show!
So many rehearsals and so much organisation, and I am very grateful for the time and energy they placed into assisting our students to represent Karoo PS so spectacularly! Congratulations to all.
It is with great delight that I am able to share with our school community the safe arrival into the world of Amelia Hazel Everitt, the daughter of Ms Rebecca Barton, and Savannah Blonik, the daughter of Ms Cass Blonik. Amazingly both the new additions to Karoo PS were born on the 9th of September! Ms Blonik and Ms Barton are happy to share that their beautiful girls are going very well, and that they are both enjoying all the special newborn cuddles.

Parent feedback is really valuable for us to understand if the work we are focusing on is having an impact on student outcomes, as well as identifying next steps for us as a school. We encourage all families to complete both the Parent Opinion Survey and the KPS Communication Survey, so that we can gain valuable insights and support our future actions.
The Parent Opinion Survey log in information can be found on Compass (see Compass post from 12th September).
The KPS Communication Survey can be completed at this link: 👉KPS Communication Survey
Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.
We warmly welcome all our families into the life of our school. Therefore, to help you plan ahead to attend as many events as possible, please find below the Karoo PS Term 4 Calendar of Events.
I hope you enjoy a well-deserved break filled with rest, fun, and family time. I look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for another exciting Term 4, on Monday 6th October.
Warm Regards,
Courtney Hoffmann
