It is always a favourite time of mine at the end of a busy term to take the time to reflect with our students on how they are feeling around their learning achievements and successes.
Two questions I was particularly interested in were:
Here are a few responses from our wonderful students.
Toby 4BH
" I learnt how to do split division this term"

I wanted to take the opportunity to provide our Karoo families with more information relating to our updated Victorian and Teaching Model. Over the year, our teachers have been attending professional learning in gathering a better understanding of the model, including adjusting their current teaching practices and planning to align with VTLM 2.0. Below is a summary and further details around the model.
The revised VTLM (VTLM 2.0) is informed by contemporary evidence about the way students learn and the most effective teaching practices and approaches to achieve strong learning outcomes for students, including priority cohorts. It has explicit teaching at its core.
The department developed the VTLM 2.0 in consultation with the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO). The model is also informed by insights from school leaders and practitioners, and effective teaching and learning practices already in place in many schools across Victoria.
The department is in the process of updating existing frameworks, tools and resources to align with the VTLM 2.0. In some instances, this will include retiring approaches and practices that do not align with the VTLM 2.0.
The department has developed guidance materials and resources to support schools to implement the VTLM 2.0 from 2025. This includes developing Victorian Lesson Plans, which exemplify the VTLM 2.0 in core curriculum areas. Some of the Victorian Lesson Plans have been released on the Arc platform and more will be released across 2025.
Another exciting way to finish the term. Teachers VS Students in Netball. A very entertaining and at times competitive match between our teachers and students. Congratulations to the teachers this time; I am sure the students will be ready for the next round.
I wish all our hard-working students and teachers a well-deserved break and I look forward to seeing you all around our wonderful in two weeks!
