The Children’s International Film Festival returns to cinemas from June 6 – July 5. CHIFF screens at Classic Cinemas in Elsternwick, Lido Cinemas in Hawthorn and Cameo Cinemas in Belgrave.
CHIFF is an exciting opportunity for kids to access diverse and interesting age-appropriate films in a festival context. Many films in the program come from acclaimed international festivals, and usually don’t get a general cinema release, so CHIFF is the only opportunity to watch these great stories.
Highlights of the program include the Oscar-nominated animation Little Amelie or the Character of Rain (ages 10+), a moving Brazilian animation with no dialogue, Papaya (ages 5+), live-action adventure in Momo (ages 8+), based on Michael Ende’s The Neverending Story, and Pol the Pirate Mouse (ages 4+), a selection of TV episodes for preschoolers.
CHIFF screens each weekend from June 6, and then the first week of school holidays from June 29 – July 5.
