Week 9 Greeting・第9週のごあいさつ

As we approach the end of Term 2, it is hard to believe how quickly the term has passed. Despite the busy nature of the term and the challenges that often arise during the winter months, our students have continued to demonstrate outstanding commitment to their learning. Many students have shown great persistence and resilience while navigating a period when illness has been widespread across the community, and it has been wonderful to see them remain engaged and positive throughout.

Throughout the term, students have embraced a wide range of opportunities beyond the classroom. From excursions and incursions to student leadership initiatives, fundraising activities, and performances at the Japan Festival, our students have represented our school with pride and enthusiasm. Their willingness to participate, challenge themselves, and contribute to our school community continues to make us incredibly proud.

This will be our final newsletter for Term 2, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish all students, families, and staff a safe, enjoyable, and well-deserved winter break. We hope everyone has the opportunity to rest, recharge, and spend quality time with family and friends.

A reminder that next Friday is the final day of Term 2 and students will be dismissed early at 2:30 pm. Please ensure appropriate arrangements have been made for your child to be collected at this time.

学期末が近づき、今学期もあっという間に過ぎたことを実感しています。忙しい学期の中、また寒い季節特有の体調不良が広がる時期にもかかわらず、本校の児童たちは学習に真摯に取り組み続けてくれました。多くの児童がたくましさを発揮し、前向きな姿勢で学校生活を送っていたことを大変嬉しく思います。

今学期も児童たちは教室での学習に加え、さまざまな活動に積極的に参加しました。遠足や特別プログラムへの参加、ボックスヒル日本祭りでのパフォーマンス、募金活動でのリーダーシップの発揮など、多くの場面で本校を誇らしく代表してくれました。新しいことに挑戦し、学校コミュニティに貢献しようとする姿勢を、大変誇りに思っています。

今回のニュースレターが2学期最後の発行となります。児童の皆さん、ご家族の皆様、そして教職員が、安全で楽しく、そして十分な休息を取れる冬休みを過ごされることを心より願っています。ご家族やご友人との大切な時間を楽しみながら、心身ともにリフレッシュしていただければと思います。

また、来週金曜日は2学期最終日となり、午後2時30分に早帰りとなります。お子様のお迎えにつきまして、事前にご確認・ご準備をお願いいたします。

Policy Updates・学校方針（ポリシー）更新のお知らせ

The Education and Policy Sub-committee has recently completed a review of several school policies, which have now been endorsed by School Council. We thank the members of the sub-committee and School Council for their time and contributions in ensuring our policies remain current and compliant with Department requirements.

The following policies have been updated and are now available on the school website:

• CPS Cash Handling Policy
• CPS Electronic Funds Management Policy
• CPS Student Dress Code Policy (minor amendments to Appendix A)
• CPS Fundraising Policy

We encourage all members of our school community to take some time to review these policies and familiarise themselves with any updates.

Year 5/6 Camp・5・6年生キャンプ

I was fortunate enough to attend the Year 5/6 Camp alongside our wonderful students and staff. Over the course of the camp, students enthusiastically participated in a variety of exciting activities, including canoeing, orienteering, frisbee golf, campfire cooking, kick biking, and the famous 250-metre zip-line, which was undoubtedly a highlight for many!

Students were also treated to an impressive selection of delicious meals throughout their stay, including spaghetti bolognese, creamy chicken pasta, fresh salads, roast chicken and potatoes, steamed vegetables, build-your-own wraps and burgers, and a range of indulgent desserts.

While camps are filled with fun and memorable experiences, they also provide valuable opportunities for students to step outside their comfort zones. Whether it was trying a new activity, spending time away from home, or working collaboratively with their peers, our students demonstrated resilience, perseverance, and independence throughout the camp. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow over the course of the three days.

One of the highlights for staff was receiving glowing feedback from the camp facilitators, who commented that CPS students were their favourite group to work with. They praised our students for being polite, respectful, enthusiastic, and willing to fully engage in all activities. While such feedback is certainly something to celebrate, it comes as no surprise to those of us who have the privilege of working with these remarkable young people every day.

A special thank you must go to our attending staff members: Mrs Newman, Kurokawa Sensei, Klein Sensei, Onda Sensei, Miss Molloy, and Sophie. Their care, enthusiasm, and commitment ensured that camp was a safe, enjoyable, and rewarding experience for all students.

先日行われた5・6年生キャンプに、児童たちや教職員とともに参加してまいりました。キャンプ期間中、児童たちはカヌー、オリエンテーリング、フリスビーゴルフ、キャンプファイヤーでの調理体験、キックバイク、そして全長250メートルのジップラインなど、さまざまな活動に意欲的に取り組みました。特にジップラインは、多くの児童にとって忘れられない体験となったようです。

また、食事も大変充実しており、スパゲッティ・ボロネーゼ、クリーミーチキンパスタ、新鮮なサラダ、ローストチキンとポテト、温野菜、自分で作るラップやハンバーガー、そして美味しいデザートなどが提供されました。

キャンプは楽しい思い出を作るだけでなく、児童たちが自分自身に挑戦し、成長する貴重な機会でもあります。新しい活動への挑戦や、家族から離れての宿泊体験、他児童どの協力を通して、粘り強さ、自立心、そしてたくましさを大きく伸ばしてくれました。3日間を通して自信を深めていく姿を見ることができ、大変嬉しく思いました。

さらに、キャンプ施設のスタッフからCPSの児童たちが来るのを楽しみにしていた、という大変嬉しいお言葉をいただきました。礼儀正しさ、思いやり、積極性、そしてすべての活動に前向きに参加する姿勢が生徒代々受け継がれているようです。改めて本校児童の素晴らしさを実感する機会となりました。

最後に、キャンプを支えてくださったNewman先生、Kurokawa先生、Klein先生、Onda先生、Miss Molloy、そしてSophieに心より感謝申し上げます。参加スタッフの献身的なサポートのおかげで、児童たちは安全で充実した素晴らしいキャンプを経験することができました。

Grandparents and Special Friends Day・グランドペアレンツ・スペシャルフレンズデー

On Thursday 11 June, we welcomed more than 200 grandparents and special friends to our school for our annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day. It was wonderful to see so many visitors on our school grounds and to witness the joy that this special event brings to our students and families.

Our students were absolutely over the moon to have their special people visit their classrooms, share in their learning, and experience a snapshot of school life. The smiles on students' faces throughout the afternoon reflected just how meaningful these connections are.

A particular highlight of the event was the performance by our school choir, who delighted our guests with their beautiful singing. Their performance provided yet another opportunity for our students to showcase their talents and confidence in front of an appreciative audience.

Thank you to all grandparents and special friends who joined us for the afternoon. Your presence helped make the event truly memorable, and we greatly value the important role you play in the lives of our students and our wider school community.

6月11日（木）に開催された「グランドペアレンツ・スペシャルフレンズデー」では、200名を超える祖父母や大切なご友人の皆様を学校へお迎えすることができました。多くの方々にご来校いただき、学校全体が温かい雰囲気に包まれた素晴らしい一日となりました。

児童たちは、自分にとって大切な方々を教室へ招き、一緒に学習活動を体験していただけたことを大変喜んでいました。学校生活の様子を共有できたことは、児童にとっても特別な思い出になったことと思います。

また、本校合唱団によるパフォーマンスも大きな見どころの一つでした。美しい歌声で会場を魅了し、児童たちの才能や自信に満ちた姿を披露する素晴らしい機会となりました。

ご参加いただいた祖父母の皆様、そしてスペシャルフレンズの皆様に心より感謝申し上げます。皆様のおかげで、児童たちにとって大変思い出深い時間となりました。これからも本校コミュニティの大切な一員として、児童たちを温かく見守っていただければ幸いです。
