ISA Athletics Championships

Congratulations to our Athletics Team on a terrific performance at the ISA Athletics Championships, finishing seventh overall in Division 1 after a fantastic day of competition.

There were plenty of outstanding performances across the team, but one of the major highlights belonged to Jack R, who produced a brilliant performance in the 15–16 Years Triple Jump, setting a new ISA record of 12.93m. Jack broke the previous record of 12.73m and should be incredibly proud of an outstanding achievement.

The Championships also finished on a high for St Patrick’s College, with our Senior 4x100m Relay Team winning the final event of the day. Congratulations to Xavier M, Christian H, William E and Charlie R, who combined for a fantastic performance to finish the carnival in style.

Following the Championships, 11 St Patrick’s students were selected in the ISA Athletics Team to compete at the NSW Combined Independent Schools (NSWCIS) Championships on Tuesday, 22 September. Congratulations to all selected athletes, and we wish them every success as they represent both the College and ISA at the next level.

A huge thank you must also go to Mrs Simms and all of our Athletics coaches for their commitment, time and effort throughout the season. Their work behind the scenes at training and competition has played an important role in the achievements of our athletes this year.

Summer Sport Continues

While the term may be coming to an end, our summer sport season is already gathering momentum, with a number of teams competing in trials and competition ahead of the ISA season.

Our A Basketball teams recently took part in trial matches against Waverley College and performed strongly across the day. The games provided a valuable opportunity for the teams to test themselves in a competitive environment and continue preparations for the upcoming ISA season.

Our First V Basketball team was also in action in a midweek trial against St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill, producing an excellent performance to record a win. It was another positive step in the team’s preparations as they build towards Round 1.

Our First IX and U16 Baseball teams are now two rounds into their season and will continue playing throughout the school holidays. Both teams have enjoyed some excellent results so far, with the current highlight being an emphatic 18–1 victory by our U16s last week. We wish both teams all the best as their competitions continue over the break.

Our First XI and Second XI Cricket teams will also be in action during the holidays, with a number of trial matches scheduled as they prepare for the commencement of the ISA season. We wish both teams all the best for their matches over the break.

A reminder that all summer sport training recommences on Tuesday 13 October, upon our return to school for Term 4. The confirmed Term 4 training schedule is available below, and students and families are encouraged to check their relevant sport and team arrangements before returning.

Round 1 for Cricket, Basketball and Golf will take place on Saturday 17 October, while Touch Football begins its season on Saturday 24 October.

Thank you to all students, parents, coaches and staff for their contribution to College sport throughout another busy term. We hope everyone enjoys a safe, relaxing and well-earned holiday break, and we look forward to another exciting term of St Patrick’s sport when we return in Term 4.
