MALKAR Breaksea Youth Ensemble
Breaksea has an upcoming production called ‘Maklar’ in July and they are currently looking for people interested in joining the youth ensemble for this project. The production is aimed at people from Year Nine students to age 25.

Experience crafted storytelling through singing, acting and dancing interwoven with live music and beautifully created projections by Roly Skender.
Showcasing local Breaksea youth artists, Jarrad Inman, Sabrina Ives, Bonnie Staude and Gus Moir, together with Let’s Shine All Abilities Performance Group.Malkar features a newly formed massed choir, meeting over 10 weeks, bringing together youth and adults in the community. Celebrating side-by-side partnerships with incredible Noongar artists Jarrad Inman and Rachael Colmer, Malkar is part of the Albany Entertainment Centre's NAIDOC Week program. Malkar explores the universal themes of home, family and country, following a young father's journey through conflict. What happens when Harry is lost, far from home with only memories of family to sustain him? Directed by Matt Ward, conducted by Pia Harris with brand new music by Jonathan Brain and Sabrina Ives. Join us on a powerful odyssey of reconnection.
This performance is part of the Albany Entertainment Centre's NAIDOC performances.
Starkick
Starkick is back for another year, an All-Abilities football program that caters for children 5 to 17 years of age.
Children who by circumstance or choice, who may be unable or unwilling to participate in a traditional sporting team environment, are provided the support and resources they require to enable them to participate and most importantly - have fun! Starkick aims to cater for all disabilities, and runs with the simple mantra – if you want to play, we’ll find the way!
Online registration is open via PlayHQ for Starkick All Abilities and Auskick. Both programs will run on Saturdays in 2024.

Get dressed up for an evening of live music, dancing, food and a great time with your friends in an immersive “Winter Wonderland”.
There will be free winter themed face painting, games, a snow zone and a “chill” out zone. Ensure you line up at the photobooth created by talented local high school students to have your picture taken so you have a memento to remember the night!

An exciting event featuring Lauren Jackson happening in Albany! Here are the details:
- Date and Time: The event is on Thursday 4 April. Participants are requested to arrive by 8.30 AM to start at 9.00 AM.
- Location: Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre.
- Cost: $80 per person, which includes 2.5 hours of fun.
- Program:
- Skill and drills session: Participants will engage in various basketball skills and drills.
- Q&A session with Lauren Jackson: An opportunity for participants to ask questions and interact with the basketball star.
- Photo opportunity: Attendees will have the chance to have their picture taken with Lauren Jackson.
- Age: 8-16 years Girls and Boys welcome.
- Preparation: Participants are reminded to bring their water bottles and basketballs to the event.

If you are a young creative between the age of 10 – 25 years old, then this is the opportunity for you to showcase your talent over two days in April at the third Youth Market in Albany.

Due to the popularity of this market and limited capacity in the Town Hall please note that expressing your interest does not guarantee you a stall, as we endeavour to have a range of different products available to the public. You will be notified once EOI's close if you have been successful.
If you have previously attended the market, there has been some changes this year:
- You will be required to attend both market days, being Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 April 2024 (previously you could do either date or both)
- There are limited spaces for stalls with a clothes rack (see link for site map)
- The maximum number of stalls is 22 to ensure everyone has enough space in the Town Hall
WA State Schoolgirls Cricket
Trials for this year's State Team will take place on March 3, March 10 and March 17. (Trial times to be confirmed soon.)
Players turning 11 and 12 years of age in 2024 are eligible to nominate.
Please note: WA also has a State Schoolboys 12 Years & Under team that attends the same National Championships. Details in relation to these trials can be found on the same website.
This year's championship will be in Adelaide, South Australia from November 30 to December 6. All relevant details can be found on this webpage.

Academic Task Force - Weekly Tuition and Master Classes
Term 1 - Academic Task Force - Tuition for Years 7 - 12
Weekly Tuition with an experienced and qualified teachers. Students can join at anytime. With a maximium of only 4 in a group, students will receive individual help, address gaps in understanding, support with their work and assignments and supplement learning with additional work and questions.
Term 1 - Academic Associates - Master Class for Years 10- 12
Master Classes provide expert teaching of the syllabus and advanced insights for high achieving students. Each week, the teacher focuses on a particular topic from the WACE syllabus. Students will get in-depth explanations and examples, work through more difficult questions and receive individual feedback and expert coaching from our Master Class teacher.
