G.S.S.S.S.A Year Seven to Twelve Interschool Swimming Carnival 

The Great Southern Grammar Interschool swimming squad attended the G.S.S.S.S.A. Interschool Swimming Carnival held on 19th March.

  

Competing against Albany Senior High School and St. Joseph's College, the event concluded with a nail-biting finish, with a mere 13 points difference between the three schools. Albany Senior High School led with 1039 points, followed closely by Great Southern Grammar with 1034.5 points, and St. Joseph's College with 1026.5 points. 

 

Special commendations go to all the swimmers, including those who stepped in for late withdrawals and those who competed in unplanned events.  

The individual accolades were distributed as follows: 

Kalarney Williams won the Year Seven boys category with 60 points, Holly De Jonge mirrored this achievement in the Year Ten girls category, and Liesel Freebury triumphed in the Open Eleven/Twelve girls category with 57 points. Other notable mentions include Molly O’Malley and Josh Irvine, both securing Runner-up Champion titles in their respective Year Eight categories, William Baldwin in Year Nine, and Zeb Campbell in Year Ten. 

 

This event not only highlighted the competitive spirit of the schools but also the camaraderie and adaptability of the students, making it a memorable competition for all involved. 

Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding performances and contributions to the success of the carnival. We thank all staff and student helpers for making the carnival to be a success, parents for attending to support their respective children and schools, and Paul O’Donnell from St Joseph's College for hosting the event.
