Welcome to 2026! We are really excited for this year, and wanted to give you a snapshot of what is happening in the Performing Arts department.
On Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th February, our College Choir, Jazz Band, and Concert Band came together for two full days of rehearsals. This was a great opportunity for students to read through their repertoire for the year, work in small group sectionals, and get excited about the year ahead.
We are still looking for more members for our Choir and Concert Band, so if your child is interested in singing or trying out percussion, now is the time! No experience is necessary – just a willingness to give it a go.
Instrumental music lessons have now begun on all instruments. Year 7 students studying music this semester have received their instruments and we are looking forward to seeing what they achieve over the semester.
Students and parents will receive an email at the end of each week with the lesson time for the following week. Please ensure that your child brings their instrument and music to school on that day.
Rehearsals for this year’s production are already underway, and the enthusiasm from students has been outstanding. More details about the production will follow in due course – watch this space!
Entries for the Hamilton Eisteddfod are now open. If your child is currently having music lessons at school and would like to enter as a soloist or as part of a small group, please get in touch with music staff as soon as possible. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents!
