Faith in Action: Caritas Australia - Project Compassion

Unite Against Poverty this Lent

As we continue our journey through the Lenten season, our school community is once again turning its focus toward Catholic Social Justice.  This year, we are proud to reaffirm our commitment to Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion, an initiative that helps empower the world’s most vulnerable communities to grow stronger and share in the fruits of a more just world.

Kick-off Event:  St Patrick’s Day Fun

Our fundraising efforts officially launch this Tuesday on Saint Patrick’s Day.

  • Casual Clothes Day:  Tuesday, 17 March is a casual clothes day.  To celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day, we also encourage everyone to wear green to celebrate the feast day!

  • Best Dressed Competition:  Think you have the most festive outfit?  We will be holding a competition for the best green outfit on the day with prizes for the most creative looks.

"Gold Coin" Donation:  To participate in the casual clothes day, students are asked to bring a gold coin donation.

A Sweet Treat for a Good Cause

The festivities continue at recess!  We will be selling delicious iced green donuts for $3 each.

Every single dollar of profit from these sales will be donated to Caritas Australia.  It’s a great way to enjoy a treat while knowing your contribution is making a global difference.

Prayer – An Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warm upon your face;

the rains fall soft upon your fields

and until we meet again,

may God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Amen
