News from the Deputy Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,
This week I have been working on my role of Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader or MHWL with Rebecca and together we have taken part in professional learning with Be You who are partnered with Beyond Blue to create professional learning opportunities, information and support for educators. Our focus this week was on the SAFEMINDS website.
SAFEMinds: Schools And Families Enhancing Minds
Enhancing early intervention in mental health support for children and young people in schools.
Each week, in our roles, Rebecca and I aim to provide our community with up-to-date information and research-based resources to support your children's mental health and well-being. Of course, if you have any specific concerns, we are more than happy to meet with you and assist you with connecting with the right professionals.
PSG Meetings
In the last newsletter I published the upcoming dates for PSG Meetings. Please note that one of the dates has changed as I need to attend a meeting for NCCD (National Consistent Collection of Data) updates.
The dates for PSGs are as follows:
Monday 23rd March 2026
Friday 27th March 2026
Monday 30th March 2026
Bookings will be open in the next Newsletter.
Any children who were on NCCD in 2025 will remain on NCCD until our audit in August, when they are reassessed for support. Any new children or Foundation children who may require adjustments or support will come onto NCCD shortly, in consultation with you and Bec and will have PSG meetings at the end of this term.
Please see below the information from NCCD for Parents and Carers.
What is NCCD?
Below are some resources that are free to Australian families and are centred around Mental Health and Wellbeing.
Raising Children Network
The Raising Children Network is a well-researched, free resource for Australian families on raising children and all things parenting-related.
They cover
and have information for all stages of life.
Raising Healthy Minds App
The Raising Children Network have just released an APP which can be specifically designed to assist you with the age and development and mental health concerns for your children.
The App requires a parent to sign up, and questions can be posted for specific assistance, or you can follow items of interest to assist you with the wellbeing of your child/children. The app has been co-designed with parents and professionals and uses the latest research to assist families with up-to-date and current information.
Do you have a specific health concern for your child, or want to know more information about exclusions from childcare or school? The A-Z of Health-related concerns is a great resource available to parents through the Raising Children Network.
